Traditional Illustration: Old Salt

I thought I'd finally shake the dust off this place and break the ice with an old favorite. This guy here is a color pencil drawing that was supposed to be a small portion of a larger piece, but he grew on me, so I had to give him a little more attention.

I got the idea from this picture I saw of a cat chewing on a stick. In my addled little mind I saw a cat smoking a pipe, and tadaa! Old Salt was born. Named Old Salt because this seems like the ornery sort of thing you'd see hanging around a pier or boardwalk.
